ECB300 integrates 3-axis magneto-inductive sensors, 3-axis MEMS accelerometer and central processing unit to calculate the heading data in real time and compensate the heading when it has inclination angle. ECB300 has multiple interfaces, and it enjoys small size, high accuracy, low power consumption and low cost, which is very convenient to be integrated into different systems, it has been widely used in laser rangefinders, antenna positioning, buoy, unmanned systems and marine navigation fields, etc.

1. Introduction:

The compass sensor module is a type of GPS unit and is most commonly used in laser rangefinders. The module consists of an accelerometer and gyroscope, or two accelerometers in the case of GPS. A laser beam from the laser rangefinder’s rangefinder is focused on a mirror attached to the front of the module. The mirror reflects the beam to an LED, which illuminates a red LED on the front face of the compass module. The red light shines through an infrared filter, producing a green light that can be measured by a color camcorder or camera, indicating whether it is pointing north or south.
The accuracy of this system can be as low as 0.3°RMS (relative to true north), but this doesn’t mean that it should be relied upon for navigation (assuming you have your own local navigational charts). Some systems have greater accuracies, but their inaccuracy can be more than 15°RMS (relative to true north) and so are not good for navigation purposes anyway.
As with any other navigation system, it makes sense to use your own local chart when you have better information than what’s available from satellite systems; and using such maps as a reference when navigating will likely save you time and money in the long run.
Before going much further into why this compass sensor module is different from its competition (and how it’s supposed to help us navigate), let me just say that there are some things about these modules I like about them:
• High accuracy: 0.3°RMS or less
• Include an IR filter: It allows you to use the camcorder/camera without disturbing your shot that much if you need see something behind your subject
• It has no rotating door: You don’t have to worry about whether it will get dirty after being opened and shut again every few days; if need be you can always wipe it down with a wet cloth

2. The benefits of using a compass sensor module.

You can use to attach your compass sensor to your laptop, tablet or phone. The compass sensor module is for magnetic scanners. It has two magnets in the front and two magnets in the back. The magnets hold the compass pin and magnet together. The compass sensor module is made of high quality plastic, so it can be used with both hot and cold applications.
The compact size of this module makes it very convenient to install on various devices because it can be easily attached and detached from your device without removing any screws or screws of the device.

3. The features of a compass sensor module.

A compass sensor module (CSM) is an electronic component used to measure the position of a compass, in terms of its magnetic field. It’s important to understand the differences between magnetic sensors and optical sensors so that you can choose the best one for your application. Magnetic sensors include accelerometers, gyroscopes and magnetometers, while optical sensors are digital devices like cameras or digital cameras.
Think of a compass sensor module as a small digital camera that takes pictures of the Earth’s magnetic field in different directions at various depths and uses them to reconstruct what’s in front of it. The resulting image records information about where on Earth the device is pointing, which usually allows you to determine its position with high accuracy (compared to other sensors).
A typical compass sensor module consists of: • One or more accelerometers • One or more gyroscopes • One or more magnetometers • An LSI (or ASIC) microprocessor • A housing This means that there are lots of moving parts that need to work together well for it to function properly: add-on boards with connection points, chipsets with processing logic and memory, power supplies with wiring etc.). In addition, there are usually many different types and brands of compass sensors because they all have different features (ease of use/build quality/speed).
The CSM market has been dominated by two types: single-axis GPS navigation systems and multichannel navigation systems. GPS navigation systems use onboard GPS receivers which detect changes in the direction and speed of the Earth’s magnetic field; these signals are then processed by onboard processors in order to determine your current location on the planet. These systems are usually made up from several components such as gyroscopes mounted inside satellites, or onboard processors which work together with onboard computers. Multichannel navigation systems have standard interfaces between their components which allow you to access multiple data channels (e.g.: microphone channels which send sound cues). There are also “point-to-point” navigation systems where you connect various components on your device and get them all working simultaneously (e.g.: GPS antenna modules).

FAQ

A: for your concerned about electronic compass used in the magnetic interference, this is actually a normal phenomenon for electronic compass, cause these electronic compasses are made of magnetometer sensors, which will be influenced by the surrounding magnetic field to solve this problem, we usually suggest our customer to adopt anti-interference electronic compass (like our EC2000 electronic compass, or select ECB300 with anti-interference casing), and install the electronic compass at least 20~30cm away from the magnetic forces e.g. metal objects, electronics, motors etc. (for motors, it is better 40cm away) and at the same time, the second magnetic calibration should be executed after the ECB300 is installed, which can compensate the magnetic interference. cause the magnetic interference is very complicated, it depends on many aspects: such as installation position, second calibration but we are very confident to say that our ECB200 Accurate Precision Digital Electronic Compass Sensor Module manufacturer performs better performance, it has been qualified by Chinese military and hundreds of customers around the world. It enjoys high anti-interference, better performance.
